Kendrick Lamar foi o grande vencedor da noite, levando cinco gramofones com uma só música. “Not Like Us” arrematou os prêmios de Canção do Ano, Gravação do Ano, Melhor Canção de Rap, Melhor Performance de Rap e Melhor Vídeo Musical.
Beyoncé chegou à premiação como a artista mais indicada, concorrendo a 11 prêmios – o que fez dela a artista mais indicada da história da premiação, com 99 prêmios. No fim do dia, ela faturou apenas três gramofones, mas ganhou o mais importante deles com a inédita vitória na categoria de Álbum do Ano, com “Cowboy Carter”.
